Vidya Bharti has been providing quality education since 1952 and is committed to educating the younger generation according to Indian values and culture.
Some committed and patriotic individuals who considered education as an art, dedicated to educating the younger generation in accordance with Indian values and culture, started the first school in 1952 at Gorakhpur, Uttar Pradesh.
They named this school Saraswati Shishu Mandir — a temple of Goddess Saraswati dedicated to children. Thanks to their enthusiasm, dedication, and hard work, similar schools began to be established in other places as well.
The number of such schools grew rapidly in Uttar Pradesh. For their proper guidance and planned development, a State-level Shishu Shiksha Prabandhan Samiti (Child Education Management Committee) was formed in 1958.
Good education and strong values in Saraswati Shishu Mandirs earned recognition, respect, and popularity in society.
In 1977, a National Body was formed and Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan was established with its registered office in Lucknow and functional headquarters in Delhi.
All state-level committees are affiliated to this Vidya Bharati Akhil Bharatiya Shiksha Sansthan.
Vidya Bharati is a milestone in the Indian education system. It not only emphasizes academic excellence but also connects children to their cultural roots. Today, thousands of Saraswati Shishu Mandirs and schools affiliated with Vidya Bharati across the country are working for quality education and the preservation of Indian values.
